Travel time!

The summer is here, you already planned your vacation from work, you can't wait to go on holiday! So you start up your laptop and start searching for holidays! But shit.. still covid-19 is there to ruin your holiday: nope can't go there, nope not there, maybe there? Oh hell no, what now? So you look outside and see your baby starring at you and there is the answer: motorcycle holiday it is!! Yeah baby!!

Hmmm, but that's kinda new, what do I bring? How does this work? Where do I want to go? All those questions will be taken away by this awesome guide we just made for you! Let's see where to start.

Motorcycle

It doesn't matter which motorcycle you ride (we assume you ride an awesome caferacer ;)). But it could be when you ride a racer it is less comfortable than a model you can sit more straight up. That doesn't mean you can't go on a vacation with your racer but you need to keep that in mind.

Make sure your motorcycle is in good condition! If you want to be sure just take your motorcycle to your garage and let them check if everything is alright, you don't want to get any bad surprises underway. And otherwise, check this blog for a short checklist!

When you stay in a hotel and you have no place for your motorcycle to stay in a shelter or parking garage you might want a cover to protect your motorcycle. Click here, to get your cover!

Insurance & Roadside assistence

'Accidents are in a small corner' we say in Holland. Even when it's not your fault anything can happen. If you go outside your country it's a good thing to have an insurance that will help you out if anything happens.

If your motorcycle get stuck on the way and you can't fix it, it is a good idea that you can call the roadside assistence! You don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere..

Clothes

Make sure you check the weather to the places/country! That way you can adjust your clothes. You don't want to get it cold or to hot or all soaked wet untherway. Check your clothing and if it might rain get some rainpants and raincoat.

You make it easier for yourself if you have clothes you can also wear on your motorcycle and you can easily relax in if you want to get a bite or go

Navigation / phone

You can drive and guess where to go, keeps it exciting! But if you have no idea where you are and need to get back home because you have to get back to work tomorrow it is good to have. Check our navigation systems here.

You can also click your phone on your steering! Need a holder for your phone? We have some for you right here.

If you don't know the roads somewhere keep in mind that they might be less fun then you thought. If you give yourself some space while you are traveling you can choose other roads. In the end it's al about driving on your baby on awesome roads, sliding into the corners and see cool surroundings!

Schedule

Now that you have your navigation you also might want to plan where to go! I wish we could help you pick the coolest roads in Europe but Google is better in that ;). But if you are hidding the Netherlands: Groningen is the place to be ofcourse! Let us know if you are there, maybe we can take a drive together or drink a beer!

Luggage

How do your bring your luggage? When you go on your motorcycle it's kinda like backpacking. Only driving around the whole time with a huge normal backpack isn't that comfortable. (I tried this on my racer, driving 11 hours to my destination.. I can't recommend it;)) But ofcourse on our webshop we have an excellent department with (saddle)bags especialy for motorcycle drivers! Click here to check them out.

Communication system

If you have one, make sure to charge it before you go! And don't forget the charger. When you go with more drivers it might be easy and fun to easily communicate with a communication system. When the other drivers don't have the same system make sure to try out on beforehand how and if you can connect with eachother. If you can't figure it out you still have time to ask the dealer how it works or get another one if you like.

Don't have a communication system but you want one? Lucky you! We just wrote a blog about which communication system you need! Read it here.

Traffic rules

When you go outside your own country it might be a good idea what the traffic rules are. And it's also a good idea to check what you can and can't have on your motorcycle. We love it that our motorcycles makes good and loud noices! Unfortunatelly not everyone agrees with us :(

In some countries they are really strict about the noise a motorcycle should make. Check if your exhaust has a DB-killer and if you want to be sure check if your exhaust is E-marked. If not, we got you covered: check out ours here.
