Kawasaki KZ200 Cafe Racer

I bought the bike in the year 2003. When I got it, only the frame and the engine were useful. The gas tank and the two plastic panels on the sides are original Kawasaki parts.

Building the Frame

The front fork is from a Suzuki 750. It wasn't easy to get it fitted in but in the end, I managed. I built the swingarm on my own since it was easier than fitting another one.

Simplifying the bike

I got rid of all the unnecessary parts on the bike such as the starter, alternator, kickstarter, air filter box, and most electrics. The whole bike is now very minimalistic.

Fresh new wheels and tires

The wheels also came from the Suzuki 750, but now I fitted new ones in, and they are much better.

Tracking the bike

Finishing the bike took me a whole winter. In spring 2004 I drove it for the very first time on the track, and by the way, it's for racing only as you can see. It’s awesome.

Since last year, my 13-year-old son rides it.
