Brrrrrrrr snow.......

Want to keep driving in the winter on your motorcycle? Most of us put the bike in storage during the winter, but a few die-hards also drive in the winter! It doesn't snow often but last weekend the time had come: snow! Snow and motorcycles doesn't sound like the perfect combination here in the Netherlands, but it's not impossible! We don't really have much experience with driving in the snow here in the Netherlands. That can also be a bit exciting, remember that you don't get on your bike tense. Therefore, here are a few tips from us to get through the winter well if you keep driving!

Warm clothes. Thermo underwear, helmet cap, good warm gloves and heated handles are also very nice! Don't forget that waterproof is also an important point.
Glasses with yellow lenses. No you will not look sexier with these glasses .. But with bad weather in the winter you have a better contrast with these glasses and therefore a better view! Don't forget to clean your visor after every ride. Fortunately, we still have these cool glasses with yellow lenses in our range:

Think about your lighting! Of course you want everyone to look after your cool bike now! So check your lighting regularly.
Tires. Keep your tires under pressure and make sure you have enough tread.
Battery: connect the battery at home to the trickle charger, saves start-up problems in the cold morning.
And last but not least: clean your baby! Very important to regularly wash off road salt and all other dirt, important for both your paint and your parts to prevent damage. Do not forget to lubricate the moving parts!

So, now that your equipment and your bike are ready to go, consider the following points about riding a motorcycle in the snow. In principle, fresh snow is still doable. Try to drive as gradually as possible and maintain the same throttle position when cornering. Do not suddenly push your weight against your handlebars when cornering, but gently shift your weight. With flattened snow it is a slightly different story. That is slippery and cannot be prevented. Certainly with motorists who often keep too little distance and also skid faster, this does not exactly give a safe feeling as a motorcyclist. Certainly if it is also snowing, which is even more annoying for the view, it might be better not to ride your motorcycle.

Then you could have brought in some input, here are a few tips from our followers:
1. Check if it is legal in your country! In some countries you are not allowed to drive in certain months. This also has to do with the insurance you have taken out for your motorcycle.
2. Have fun!
3. Or just don't drive your motorcycle in the snow at all ;)

Maybe a better idea to grab a beer and watch these “pro's” in the snow:
